Welcome Home Miss. Mia!!

Isn't she just the sweetest thing ever? I ADORE HER! This is sweet Mia, daughter to someone who has become a wonderful friend to me, Petrina. I "met" Petrina before Mikayla was in PGN when she e-mailed me asking me a few a questions about my agency. I answered her back and we have been friends ever since!!! Like so many right now, she had her ups and downs in the adoption process, but Mia just came home...just days after turning one! This little princess has an amazing mother...she is one lucky little girl...but I know, like all of, Petrina feels like SHE is the one who is truly blessed!

I just wanted to say WELCOME HOME GIRLS! I know it was a tough wait...but you did it Petrina...she is home where she belongs, in your arms forever and ever. I am so glad that through the past year and half we have come to know each other and that I could be even a small sense of encouragement for you along the way!

HUGS!

PICTURES FROM NIAGARA FALLS!

Well we are BACK! We had a totally, wonderful time in Niagara Falls. Both the kids did awesome on the drive. They just watched the DVD player, slept, and hung out the whole time. It took us just over five hours to get there with stops. Canada was beautiful! Even though Kris and I have been there a few times before, we are always mesmerized by the beauty of it all...and it truly is breathtaking. We got to the Marriott and Alec was thrilled to see he had his own room...LOL. The kids' room adjoined to ours. It was so nice! Plus the view from our windows were to die for:-) There is nothing more amazing then waking up and the first thing you see is the Falls out your window.

We tried to pack as much as we could into the few days that we were there and I think we did a good job. Instead of labeling each picture I will just group them by what it was we were doing and maybe label a few of them...so ON TO THE PICTURES....

Here we are! At last!
Armed with a shoe and her baby's bottle....READY FOR CANADA!
He was SO ready to be there...

We got in right at dusk...Kris parked down by the falls and Alec jumped out real quick and took a few picture with him
Here we all are getting ready to go swimming. I NEVER go swimming but I did this time. It's not that I can't swim...I just don't like it too much. But I had to because neither Alec or obviously Mikayla could swim so we all got ready and headed to the pool. OK...Mikayla looks adorable in her new swimsuit. It was a lot of fun and Mikayla loved the water...as did Alec of course.

Our server took this at the restaurant the we ate breakfast at each morning...it overlooked the Falls
The following are some random pictures taken in our room before we headed out to the Butterfly Conservatory

These were all taken at the Butterfly Conservatory. Kris and I went there a few years ago and wanted to take the kids back. It was so beautiful....hundreds of amazing butterflys all over the place. You have to be super careful where you walk so you don't step on them.

Kris took thise picture of Alec and I by this...I don't know..is it a moose? LOL. It was carved from wood.
These pictures were taken at a stop-off where you could view the lower Niagara River.

Here is our time at the Falls. You just park across the street and then walk over. Believe it or not...it wasn't as cold as PAST times that Kris and I have been there. The wind was blowing the mist AWAY from the viewing areas which made it SO NICE. So you didn't get wet at all. Mikayla and Alec were BOTH amazed by it. It was lightly snowing which made it so beautiful.

That is our hotel in the background
These were taken at the Rainforest Cafe that night. This place was AWESOME. It was all leaves, animals, and trees. Completely like you are in the rainforest. Every 20 minutes a storm would come through and the animals would "go crazy" and move all around. It's hard to explain. The ceiling was a night sky complete with twinkling stars. Alec was a little scared at first but after the first storm came through he was OK.

She fell SOUND ASLEEP on the shuttle back to the Marriott. She was out cold. She STAYED alseep for about 10 minutes after we got back in the room. I didn't want to put her down! Look how beautiful:-)

Another pic from our room window
I'm up! Someone come get me!
Taken from the open bathroom (it has a Jacuzzi and you can see the falls while in it)
Today before we left we rode the Sky Wheel. OK...I was nervous and a little sick while on it. I don't know why...the wind, the snow, the rocking...made me feel kind of UGH. Alec was nervous at first but after the first go around he was good to go. I, however, barely moved. Just took some pictures because, well, I had to at least document it! LOL!

Alec was SO excited about this....until is started moving!
Yup..under that pink blanket is Mikayla...she slept through the Sky Wheel.

Before moving....
Starting to move.....LOL

That's All!!
